WITH FANTASY !
The German verb ‘phantasieren’ has two meanings: in the common language it means ‘to fancy’, in music it is a synonym of ‘to improvise’. This recital shifts between the two meanings of the word. It features a written improvisation (Mendelssohn), a visionary musical travel with improvisatory elements (Liszt), nostalgic dreams in which improvisation concerns the way of playing rather than the written text (Brahms) and a masterwork of the piano repertoire which displays both meanings (Schumann).
